Game Day Information

Venue: We are looking for a Game Day venue. Please contact us if you would like to host the 2018 Game Day. 

Schedule:

10:00am - 10:20am: Opening Ceremonies
10:30am - 12:00pm: Seeding Matches
12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch Break
1:00pm - 2:00pm: Seeding Matches
2:10 - 2:45pm: Semifinals
3:00 - 3:30pm: Finals
4:00 - 4:30pmAwards Ceremony

Robots will go through compliance check, compete in seeding matches, semifinals, and finals matches. Awards will be given out in a variety of areas and teams that will be advancing on to the Wild West BEST Championship will be announced.

Awards Presented at Game Day

The BEST Award - Awarded to the team that demonstrates the BEST team, based on scores for notebook, marketing presentation, exhibit, game results, and spirit and sportsmanship. 

The Game Award - Awarded based on competition match results

BEST Rookie Team - Presented to the top rookie team based on engineering notebook, competition results, and spirit and sportsmanship

Founder's Award for Creative Design - Awarded to the team that best uses the engineering process for offensive and defensive capabilities in design

Most Robust Machine Award - Awarded to the team whose robot demonstrates excellent reliability during the competition

Software and Simulation Award - Awarded to the team who developed the most efficient software program for their machine and utilized software simulation for verifying its operation.

Sportsmanship Award - Awarded to the team displaying the best attributes of sportsmanship and enthusiasm during the competition (selected by the student teams)

Engineering Notebook Award - Awarded to the team with the highest notebook score that is a non-BEST Award team winner
